Recency of Practice The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia NMBA has a recency of practice registration standard that outlines requirements for enrolled nurses, registered nurses and midwives. We offer the following pathway options to nurses and midwives re-entering the professions: NMBA re-entry to practice — Supervised Practice — Pathway 1 Supervised practice consists of completing a total of hours of combined direct and indirect supervision in a clinical setting. Eligibility criteria: Australian citizen or permanent resident Tasmanian resident for the month period, immediately prior to the time of application a registered nurse or midwife who has obtained NMBA written approval to complete Re-entry to Practice via Pathway 1 be accepted into Supervised Practice Pathway 1 with Tasmanian Health Service NMBA re-entry to practice — Program — Pathway 2 Re-entry is through a theory and clinical practice via an NMBA approved program of study.
