Restore any data you have on other drives. Then restore the system state and reboot. It works great. If you're going to different hardware ASR certainly isn't supported. It can be done, with some modifications to the above procedure. Ok, I'm done. That works well for every other WIN server in my environment.
I will definitely consider this as an option for DR. I would still though like the backup of the ASR to work correctly so I will keep on trying to find a solution to this problem. You could try using ntbackup and do an ASR backup test. Then you could search the errors at support. I didn't get any errors doing the ntbackup but I think I've solved the problem anyway.
I believe it was the DEP that was disturbing the backup. I choosed to turn on the DEP for essential Windows programs and services only, restarted the server and now it seems to be working fine with the ASR backup. Thanks for your input.
