If the list includes rdp-tcp with a status of Listen , the RDP listener is working. Proceed to Check the RDP listener port. Otherwise, continue at step 4. To import the RDP listener configuration, open a PowerShell window that has administrative permissions on the affected computer or open the PowerShell window and connect to the affected computer remotely. Test the configuration by trying the remote desktop connection again.
If you still can't connect, restart the affected computer. If you still can't connect, check the status of the RDP self-signed certificate. On both the local client computer and the remote target computer, the RDP listener should be listening on port No other applications should be using this port. You can operate Remote Desktop services using another port. However, we don't recommend you do this. This article doesn't cover how to troubleshoot that type of configuration.
However, this procedure uses PowerShell because the same cmdlets work locally and remotely. Open a PowerShell window. To determine which application is using port or the assigned RDP port , enter the following command:. Look for an entry for the PID number that is associated with the port from the netstat output. This version already have RDP 6. Try this version and see if your problem is solved. Mine was solved with this version. Neither of them connects to the new R2 terminals this customers has on another location, there's a site-to-site VPN between them. What's really odd however is that it connect fine to our own terminal server, which has open towards the internet, and is R2 as well. I don't recall changing anything on this terminal whatsoever. Afaik it's pretty basic, with the desktop experience as well.
Have a hard time understanding why it would connect fine to our terminal R2 , but not the ones from the customer itself. These just time-out Works fine from my Win7 laptop on the same site. Could it be issues with MTU sizes? This can cause issues with VPNs. You usually get black screens, or disconnected clients, you may need to adjust your max MTU sizes on the clients.
Of course NLA can be switched off on the Terminal Servers, which ensures that old clients can connect again. Denny was probably right on the issue with us. The main office had a fiber connection that used PPPoE wtf? This capped the MTU. Also had issues with printers etc. We had the ISP convert the connection to a routed line instead which solved the issues. Dirt, terminals usually aren't well suited to watch video's like youtube on. Should work reasonably well with LAN connection, but it's quite demanding.
New features in R2 should makes this a lot? Did you update the firmware on the devices? My client had a Terminal Server environment, with mainly HP t, t and lately t thin clients. Their large sales department is dependent on these systems.
We have recently upgraded their server environment to an all Server setup, new hardware et al. I know have constant issues with the attached thin clients to the network. I have done test upgrading some to the latest firmware without any success. I suspect the drivers and the way the printer forwarding work is more or less the same, but that the old drivers that the thin clients try to push to the terminal server are out dated.
I found that the problem resides on the screen resolution, more resolution, is slow I'm trying with other versions of the rdp add-on, but no luck. On the other side, this problem doesnt show on ie 7. Office Office Exchange Server.
